Sable Mountain Lodge is situated in Selous Game Reserve, the largest game reserve in Africa. It features 2 restaurants, a freshwater swimming pool, a watering hole and a hideout.

The lodge features a range of different accommodation types ranging from luxury tents to stone cottages. Each room has a terrace with views of the surrounding mountains and the beds are draped in mosquito nets.

Sable Mountain Lodge Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Guests can relax around the swimming pool while enjoying refreshments from the bar.

Activities at the lodge include full day or half-day game drives including a packed lunch, boat safaris and nature walks. A visit to the local Masai village can also be arranged.

The lodge is 10 km from the town of Kisaki and a 6-hour drive from Dar es Salaam. The lodge can be accessed from Dar es Salaam by either the Tazara train or daily schedule flights.

Swahili, also known as Kiswahili, is a Bantu language and the first language of the Swahili people. NYUMBA NITU NATURAL FOREST IN TANZANIA

Nyumba nitu Natural forest is located in Mlevela village at mdandu wade,15 kilometer from Njombe town.Tanzania Beauty we was reach there thus to day we tell you a little thing about NYUMBA NITU NATURAL FOREST.The word “nyumba nitu” is a bena language which nyumba means ‘house’ and nitu means dark . therefore nyumba nitu has its root Nyumba nitu caves and had derived its name from the dark caves which have been associated with a myth of black cows which dwelt inside the caves. Inside the caves, local bena people hid or took refugee during tribal war between rival ‘hehe’ fighthers during Chief Mkwawa conquests in Iringa region way back in Iringa region,way back in last quarter of 19^th century. Several tales and myths surround Nyumba nitu forest, Where Wild ‘hens’ are founds living since time immemorial. The Wabena Communities are the owners of the forest Where they pay homage calls to conduct rituals and sacrifices to their unseen ancestors.

MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

The Mikumi is bordered to the south with the Selous Game Reserve, the two areas forming a unique ecosystem. Two other natural areas bordering the national park are the Udzungwa Mountains and Uluguru Mountains.

Flora and fauna

The landscape of Mikumi is often compared to that of the Serengeti. The road that crosses the park divides it into two areas with partially distinct environments. The area north-west is characterized by the alluvial plain of the river basin Mkata. The vegetation of this area consists of savannah dotted with acacia, baobab, tamarinds, and some rare palm. In this area, at the furthest from the road, there are spectacular rock formations of the mountains Rubeho and Uluguru. The southeast part of the park is less rich in wildlife, and not very accessible.
The fauna includes many species characteristic of the African savannah. According to local guides at Mikumi, chances of seeing a lion who climbs a tree trunk is larger than in Manyara (famous for being one of the few places where the lions exhibit this behavior). The park contains a subspecies of giraffe, that biologists consider the link between the Masai giraffe and the reticulated or Somali giraffe. Other animals in the park are elephants, zebras, impala, eland, kudu, black antelope, baboons, wildebeests and buffaloes. At about 5 km from the north of the park, there are two artificial pools inhabited by hippos. More than 400 different species of birds also inhabit the park.

Tourism

The Mikumi belongs to the circuit of the wildlife parks of Tanzania, less visited by international tourists and better protected from the environmental point of view. Most of the routes that cross the Mikumi proceed in the direction of the Ruaha National Park and the Selous. The recommended season for visiting the park is the dry season between May and November, warm weather and beautiful sites that are a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
