Latra yatangaza bei Mpya za Mabasi 2022

 

Mamlaka ya udhibiti wa usafiri nchi kavu (LATRA) imetangaza bei mpya za nauli za mabasi na daladala nchini ambazo zitaanza kutumika baada ya siku 14 kuanzia leo.

Mkurugenzi Mkuu wa LATRA Gilliard Ngewe amesema nauli za daladala kuanzia KM 0-10 nauli itakuwa Tsh. 500 kutoka Tsh. 400 na  KM 11-15 nauli itakuwa Tsh. 550 kutoka Tsh. 450 na bei ya mwisho ya daladala kwa KM 36 hadi 40 itakuwa Tsh. 1100 kwa daladala tu.

Kwa upande wa nauli za mabasi yaendayo mikoani zimepanda kwa daraja la kawaida ni Tsh. 41.29 kwa KM moja kutoka Tsh. 36.89 huku daraja la kati likipanda kwa shilingi 56.88 kutoka Tsh. 53.22.

The Royal Tour Tanzania: Exclusive Peek Behind the Scenes in the Epic Adventure

Peter Greenberg’s occasional PBS series, “The Royal Tour,” features heads of state acting as Greenberg’s tour guides to their countries.

The shows include well-known tourist highlights but also connect the leaders’ personal stories to that of their nations, providing a more intimate view of the destination.

In the past, kings, presidents and prime ministers have acted as Greenberg’s co-hosts, but he’s never had a leader-guide quite like Samia Suluhu Hassan, the president of Tanzania and featured leader/tour guide in “The Royal Tour: Tanzania.”

(President Samia Suluhu) Hassan — or ‘Mama Samia,’ as she’s widely known within Tanzania — came to office following the death of the previous Head of State, John Magufuli.

The Country

Tanzania is big, about the size of France and Germany combined. The country comprises more than 120 tribes, including some that have a strong patriarchal social structure and don’t believe a woman should occupy the top spot.

“You have to accomplish twice as much as a male to be recognized,” Mama Samia Suluhu tells Greenberg during the program.

The Royal Tour

I accompanied Hassan and Greenberg for a few days of the shooting last September and had an opportunity to observe, up-close, her interactions with everyday Tanzanians, the film crew and Greenberg. She inspired affection in them all.

Many Americans associate Tanzania with safaris and, perhaps, Mount Kilimanjaro, but the first half of “The Royal Tour” explores parts of Tanzania that expand viewers’ understanding of the country.

It begins in Dar es Salaam, the country’s de facto capital, which is undergoing rapid development, with skyscrapers and major infrastructure projects in various stages of development.

But then it moves to a Unesco World Heritage Site, the still-bustling settlement of Stone Town, on the Zanzibar island of Unguja.

Tanzania in the spotlight

Peter Greenberg’s “The Royal Tour: Tanzania” offers a complex and holistic look at the East African nation. And he’s never had a guide quite like Samia Suluhu Hassan.

Stone Town of Unguja

The contrast is striking; unlike Dar es Salaam, with its wide, often car-clogged avenues, Stone Town is a warren of narrow streets and alleys with a pronounced Arab and Indian influence.

Many of the extraordinary, ornately carved doors on residences one passes, however, are a reminder of Stone Town’s sordid past: It was the site of the largest slave and ivory market in East Africa, and its unique character, though charming today, was defined and created by wealthy slavers.

(Samia Suluhu) Hassan was born in the more sparsely populated Zanzibari island of Pemba. As the show shifts locations there, the narrative becomes more personal.

The President brings Greenberg and viewers to the modest home she grew up in near the beach village of Kizimkazi as well as to the mosque and school she attended. 

Explaining how her village shaped her and her approach to government, she says that it was there that she first learned about her rights as a woman, including the right to be educated (she eventually received a postgraduate diploma in economics from the University of Manchester).

They look in on a class in the primary school she had attended and where her father had been head teacher; she tells the pupils that any of them can grow up to be president.

At a nearby beach, the President of Zanzibar, Hussein Mwinyi, leads Greenberg to a boat for “a surprise” while Mama Samia remains on land.

Their offshore destination is the Manta Resort, an ecolodge with a difference: Its bedroom is a submarine, sunk into a blue hole within a coral reef. Fish look in from every direction.

The next stop is not something that tourists can visit — in fact, its location is secret.

It’s a warehouse filled with more than 49,000 elephant tusks that have been confiscated by the government from poachers.

The Ivory Tour

It’s an emotional segment, interspersed with disturbing still shots of elephants that had been killed and mutilated. But it also serves to underscore how serious the country is about its antipoaching efforts. Some 2,300 poachers have been arrested in the past six years, and, President Samia Suluhu Hassan tells Greenberg, poaching has been reduced by 90 percent.

The next scene, while beautifully shot, also has a sobering side. The pair circle above the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro from an airplane.

Those whose mental picture of the mountain includes a large glacier covering much of its summit will be in for a shock: Due to climate change, the snow has shrunk to cover only a small portion of the mountaintop.

From the highest point in Africa, the tour moves to one of the lowest — and another look at a Tanzanian site that, alas, is not available to visitors: the country’s Tanzanite mines.

The blue gemstone, first identified in 1967, is found only in Tanzania, and only in one area that is less than four square miles. The stones themselves are mined three miles below the surface.

They’re rarer (in fact twenty times rarer) than diamonds, depite being less expensive.

It is expected (or maybe feared) that the mine will be exhausted in 20 years.

The show closes with images of Tanzania that will feel familiar to most people as Greenberg and Hassan visit the popular safari areas of Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti National Park. Greenberg says his goal in Ngorongoro is to see the Big Five: elephant, lion, leopard, rhino and Cape buffalo.

The crater, whose intact rim is 11 miles wide, has the highest density of large predators on Earth. It’s home to 25,000 large animals and more than 500 bird species (including ostriches and flamingos).

After finding hippos, warthogs, giraffes, zebras and antelope, Greenberg’s Big Five wish is finally granted.

Elephants weren’t hard to find, but the pair also spotted one of only 5,000 black rhinos left on Earth (the species has been slaughtered by poachers interested only in their horns), a solitary leopard and a pride of lions within sight of a buffalo herd. 

Serengeti Shall Not Die

Hassan and Greenberg catch up with the wildebeest migration in Serengeti, viewing it in part from a hot air balloon, and also visit a Masai village, where Greenberg tries his best to join in a dance with young men leaping straight up, repeatedly and rapidly.

What makes the “Royal Tour” series different from most tourism-related programing is that, aside from presenting an informal and personal side of a leader, it presents a 360-degree view of a country.

Poaching, climate-change, slavery and endangered species are not, in most instances, topics that tourist boards want to dwell upon, but they’re important to get a full understanding of Tanzania.

By the end of the presentation, it’s likely that viewers’ interest in visiting the country will be higher than before they had watched it.

Even Tanzania’s familiar aspects are enhanced because everything is shown from the personal perspective of the country’s leader.

Although the show premieres this week, most PBS stations will be airing it several times in the coming months. If you have clients who are considering a trip to East Africa, you may want to share with them local viewing times.

After premiering in the United States, it is now time for the 'Royal Tour Tanzania' documentary to be unveiled in Tanzania. This takes place in the Northern Tourism Circuit, precisely in Arusha City on the 28th of April 2022

Shtaka la nane, Kimaro alidai kuwa Novemba 29, 2013 katika tawi la kati la Benji ya Stanbic Tanzania Wilaya ya Kinondoni Sethi alitakatisha fedha kwa kuchukua BoT USD 22,198,544.60 wakati akijua fedha hizo zimetokana na zao la kujihusisha na genge la uhalifu.

Kwa upande wa shtaka la tisa, Sethi anadaiwa kuwa kati ya Novemba 29, 2013 na Machi 14,2014 katika tawi la kati la Benji ya Stanbic Kinondoni Dar es Salaam alitakatisha fedha, Sh 309,461,300,158.27 kutoka BoT wakati akijua fedha hizo zimetokana na zao la kujihusisha na genge la uhalifu.

Shtaka ya kumi, inadaiwa Januari 23, 2014 katika Benki ya Mkombozi tawi la St Joseph Cathedral, Rugemalila alitakatisha fedha, Sh 73, 573, 500,000 kutoka kwa Seth wakati akijua fedha hizo zimetokana na zao la kujihusisha na genge la uhalifu.

Kwa upande wa shtaka la 11, Kimaro alidai kuwa Januari 23,2014 katika Benki ya Mkombozi tawi la St Joseph Cathedral, Rugemarila alitakatisha fedha USD 22,000,000 kutoka kwa Seth wakati akijua fedha hizo ni zao la uhalifu.

Shtaka la 12, Seth anadaiwa kuwa Januari 28, 2014 katika tawi la kati la Benki ya Stanbic Wilaya ya Kinondoni alihamisha Rand (zar 1,305,800 kwenda kwenye akaunti namba 022655123 katika Standard bank Land Rover Sandton Johannesburg wakati akijua katika kipindi anahamisha fedha hizo zimetokana na zao la kujihusha na genge la uhalifu.

Washtakiwa hawakuruhusiwa kuongea chochote kwa sababu mahakama ya Kisutu haina mamlaka ya kusikiliza kesi hao.

Upande wa mashtaka ulidai upelelezi bado haujakamilika na washtakiwa wamepelekwa rumande hadi Julai 14, 2017.

Hata hivyo mashtaka ya kutakatisha fedha yanayowakabili washtakiwa hao hayana dhamana.

Seven facts you didn't know about Tanzania

Tanzania is a country of colour and contrast. Home to Africa’s highest mountain, and bordered to the east by the clear, sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean, it is a true jewel of East Africa.

In the first of our showcase series, we’ve put the spotlight on one of fastjet’s favourite countries to discover lesser known facts about beautiful Tanzania.

1. A bounty of National Parks

Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino), and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs.There are 12 national parks, 13 nature reserves, and 38 protected areas scattered throughout the country, each with their own unique landscape and character.

2. Wildlife

Tanzania has the largest number of wildlife per square kilometre, with more than 4 million wild animals from 430 different species. One of the most well-known national parks is the Serengeti, Africa’s largest nature reserve. It’s home to over one million species of large animals, including African wild cats, baboons, elephants and zebras.

3. Natural Phenomenons

You can also find the world’s largest volcanic crater at Ngorongoro in the north of the country. At 19km in diameter and with a depth of 600m, it is a foreboding and impressive natural phenomenon.

4. Dar es Salaam

Tanzania is one of our most treasured countries in Africa and we have made our base in the bustling city of Dar es Salaam, located on the coast of the dazzling Indian Ocean.

The name Dar es Salaam means the ‘harbour’ or ‘haven of peace’ in Arabic, and today it is one of Tanzania’s most vibrant and metropolitan cities. It’s the largest natural sea port in the world, and the city is known for its expansive fishing market where you can buy the delicious coconut crab. Native to Tanzania, this is the largest crab in the world.

5. Mount Kilimanjaro

Just a short fastjet flight away from Dar es Salaam is the extraordinary Mount Kilimanjaro, the largest mountain in Africa. It stands at an impressive 5,895 metres and is the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Like most free-standing mountains, Kilimanjaro is also a volcano, although it’s been dormant for around 360,000 years.

Did you know: Over 20,000 people attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro each year but only about 2/3rds make it to the summit.

6. Cuisine

Food is well-loved in Tanzania, with various exotic cuisines available across the nation. You can tuck into a range of delicious meats, including, antelope, crocodile meat, beef, chicken and ostrich. Locals love to snack on chips Mayai (chips-egg omelette), Tilapia (fish), samosa filled with beef or chicken and chapatti, a flat bread, which is particularly popular among children.

Tanzanians also eat delicacies such as fried termites or locusts. How adventurous will you be on your trip?

Tanzania isn’t short of great, locally grown produce. You’ll find plenty of coffee, cotton, tea, tobacco, cashew nuts, grains, fruits and vegetables harvested throughout the country.

7. Language

Over 120 languages are spoken across Tanzania. The majority are Bantu languages, which itself has over 535 different languages and dialects that are spoken throughout the whole of Africa.

Serikali yatoa kibali cha ajira kuziba nafasi zilizoachwa na waliokutwa na vyeti feki

Waziri Angela Kairuki amesema kwamba serikali itaanza kuajiri watumishi wa serikali kwa kada mbalimbalk hususani katika sekta ya Afya na Elimu kutokana na upungufu wa asilimia 70% waliokumbwa na sakata la vyeti vyeki.

Pia ameongeza kwa kusema mishahara itapanda kutokana na agizo la Rais Pombe Magufuli na kwamba mishahara itapanda kutokana na ukuaji wa uchumi na mfumuko wa bei pamoja na kima cha chini cha mshahara kupanda kwa asilimia mia mbili 200% na kwamba mshahara umetoka kuanzia 100,000/= mpaka kima cha chini kuwa 300,000/=

Akijibu swali la Mbunge Lucy Mollel kwamba mafunzo kwa watumishi bado yanaendela na kwamba serikali haijafuta mafunzo kwa watumishi wa umma.

Waziri Kairuki amesema kwamba kwa sasa wanasubiri taarifa toka Tamisemi ili waweze kujua idadi ya watumishi wanaohitajika katika kila idara katika halimashauri mbalimbali nchini.

Waziri wa nchi,Ofisi ya Rais, Utumishi na Utawala Bora Mh.Angela Kairuki amesema tayari serikali imeshatoa kibali cha ajira 15000 kwa ajili ya kujaza nafasi zilizoachwa wazi na watumishi waliobainika kuwa na vyeti feki katika zoezi lililofanyika nchi nzima la kuwabaini na muda si mrefu nafasi hizo zitajazwa.

Mh.Kairuki amesema hayo Bungeni mjini Dodoma wakati aijibu swali la nyongeza la mbunge wa viti maalum iringa mh.Rita Kabati aliyetaka kufahamu juu ya ujazwaji wa nafasihizo ambaye amekiri upungufu huo kusababisha usumbufu mkubwa katika taasisi mbalimbali za umma hivyo kuwahakikishia wananchi na kuwa tatizo hilo litakwisha hivi karibuni.

Katika hatua nyingine akijibu swali la Mbunge wa Mtwara mjini Mh.Maftaha Abdallah Nachuma aliyetaka uboreshwaji wa bandari ya Mtwara kwa kudai kuwa imesahaulika licha ya kuwa na kina kirefu katika ukanda wa Afrika Mashariki na kati,Naibu waziri wa ujenzi,uchukuzi na Mawasiliano Mh.Edwin Ngonyaniamesema serikali inampango wa kuboresha na kuendeleza bandari zote nchini ikiwemo bandari ya Mtwara ili kuipunguzia mzigo bandari ya Dar es Salaam.

Mh.Ngonyani amesema kwani tayari imeshatenga fedha kwaajili ya ujenzi wa gati katika bandari ya Mtwara yenye urefu wa meta 350 itakayogharimu zaidi ya shiling bilioni137 inayotarajiwa kukamilika ndani ya miezi 21.
